Personalised, specialist care for women
I’m passionate about women’s health, and working with women to reach their health goals. I look forward to using my knowledge, experience and specialist qualifications to guide you through your care.
Obstetrics
I look after all aspects of pregnancy care including:
Planning for pregnancy (preconception counselling)
Management of complications in early pregnancy including pain, bleeding and miscarriage
Recurrent pregnancy loss
Antenatal care, birth and postnatal care
I have a special interest in early pregnancy complications and providing informed, collaborative obstetric care. I specialise in pregnancy with additional risk factors including VBAC (Vaginal Birth after Caesarean), previous pregnancy complications, and medical conditions in pregnancy.
I support elective caesarean section at maternal request and offer a mum centred caesarean experience.
For your first consultation, please bring a referral from your GP, relevant blood tests or ultrasound results and any information you have available regarding previous pregnancies, operations or medical issues. I like to meet you as soon as possible in your pregnancy to undertake an early comprehensive assessment, and to facilitate timely access to specialist care should you experience any early pregnancy complications.
Gynaecology
I offer a wide range of gynaecological services including management of:
Menstrual disorders including pain and abnormal bleeding
Endometriosis and adenomyosis
Contraception including IUD insertion
Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
Fibroids
Cervical screening abnormalities and colposcopy
Vulvo-vaginal disorders
Menopause symptoms and postmenopausal bleeding
I ensure that a long appointment is booked initially to give us time to explore your symptoms and determine a treatment plan that suits your needs. I offer advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery including excision of endometriosis and laparoscopic hysterectomy. Often a multimodal approach is required to treat gynaecological symptoms and I can discuss medical, surgical and complementary treatment options according to your individual circumstances.
For your first consultation, please bring a referral from your GP, along with any relevant tests or specialist letters. I will ensure your referring GP is kept in the loop regarding your visit.
About me
I am a specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist born and raised in Sydney and providing care at Kareena Private Hospital.
I am passionate about women's health and love to work closely with my pregnant patients to achieve a safe, mum and baby centred birth with a focus on maternal choice. I am a reassuring, knowledgable and accessible obstetrician, which is particularly important for mums with medical conditions and previous pregnancy and birth complications. I work as a solo practitioner, so I am able to provide continuity of care throughout pregnancy and birth.
For my gynaecology patients, I provide holistic care, and am able to discuss contemporary medical treatment options, as well as offering advanced surgical solutions for a broad range of conditions.
I studied medicine at the University of New South Wales and graduated with academic honors (class 1) in 2010. I undertook my Obstetrics and Gynaecology training through the St George Hospital network and have worked at many local hospitals including St George Hospital, Sutherland Hospital, the Royal Hospital for Women and Wollongong Hospital. I am a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) and received a commendation for academic excellence during my training. I am a competent laparoscopic surgeon and colposcopist with additional training in these areas. I am a conjoint associate lecturer with the University of New South Wales and love teaching and mentoring students and junior doctors, and keeping up to date with and contributing to research.
During my training as a junior doctor I met my husband and moved to The Shire. We now have 2 beautiful children together (my daughter is 2 and my son is 4) and I have learnt many life lessons through pregnancy, childbirth and being a mum.
